What to Pack when Travelling with a Baby

So you have a trip planned with your little one. Now it's time to prepare and maybe you're wondering "What should I take? What should I leave? Truth is, there are some things that may be easy to get cross-culturally, while others may be bulkly or harder to source in a new country.

Here are a few tips to help:

In Your Carry On:

  • Change of Clothes (X4 for baby, X1 for you. Accidents might happen)

  • Diapers (x8 to get through 2 days)

  • Wipes

  • Snacks

  • Toys

  • Milk Powder if your little one is formula fed

  • Bottles (X2)

  • Diaper Changing Mat

In Your Suitcase:

  • Nail Clip

  • Long Sleeve Tops

  • Short Sleeve Tops

  • Shorts and/or Pants

  • Light Jacket or Hoodie

  • Travel Mattress Liner

  • Thermometer

  • Saline Solution

  • Toothbrush

  • Baby Toothpaste

  • Towel and Rag (I prefer not to use hotel towels on my little ones. I carry receiving blankets since they are less bulky)

  • Travel Size Baby Lotion & Soap/Shampoo

  • Hair Moisturizer

  • Comb/Brush

  • Hair Accessories (for Girls)

  • Socks (X5)

  • Weather Appropriate Shoes (X2 if possible. Especially younger babies may lose a shoe in transit)

  • Weather Appropriate Hat

  • Sunblock

  • Snacks

Did I miss anything? What else would you carry?
